2020 has been a very challenging year for many of us. Due to the pandemic and the schools transitioning to distance learning, we no longer have the ability to pack meals with the Fremont students. With the increased food insecurity in our communities, our tireless volunteers continued to pack meals to support our neighbors in need. In 2020, we have packed over 130,000 meals and our meals have supported:
- Abode Services Homeless Shelter
- Fremont City Family Resource Center
- Fremont Unified School District students
- SAVE domestic violence shelter
- Ruby’s Place domestic violence shelter
- Convoy of Hope
- Reaching Out Food Bank
- Salaam Food Pantry
- Irvington Presbyterian Church Food Pantry
- Haiti School Feeding Programs
- Mexico Special Needs Orphanage
- Philippines House for the Blinds
We truly appreciate your support and could not have achieved this without the tireless volunteers and generous donors. We look forward to returning to the Fremont schools again to enable all 35,000 students to pack 1,000,000 meals. Until then, our core volunteers will continue to pack meals during the lock-down to support our most vulnerable neighbors to the best of our ability. We still have much work to do.
If you would like to make a financial donation to enable us to pack more meals, please donate via https://www.kahfremont.org/how-to-help/donate-online
Thank you for your support to join our fight against hunger and help plant the seed of compassion with our next generation. Wish you and your loved ones stay safe and well during the holidays.
Our very best,
Kids Against Hunger Fremont Volunteer Team
